Facility

In 2009 Green-Port moved into its new <50 ppm PCB, transfer, recycling and treatment facility at 64 Todd Road in Georgetown, Ontario, and has incorporated more than 25 large, medium and small “green” initiatives into its facility to equivalent LEED standards, including:

  • Rainwater harvesting and rainwater channels
  • Solar wall and HRV fans
  • Magnetic induction lights
  • Hydronic In-floor heating
  • R40 insulation in roof and walls
  • Argon-filled windows and sunlight harvesting
  • Use of recycled aggregate throughout the site
  • Preserving wetlands as a component of its storm water management system
  • Sensors combined with timer to switch lights on/off when not in use
  • LED exit lamps
  • Low flush toilets for washrooms
