Peter Wallace, P.Eng. – VP Marketing & Development

Peter graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering and has 15 years experience in project development. Peter held a position as Project Engineer for an engineering consulting company on the Ward Air Office Building & Shop Complex then as Project Manager for the Sun Life Centre Twin Towers in Toronto. He acted as Director of Special Projects for Scotia Plaza and the related connections to the Royal Bank, National Club, First Financial Place, 100 Yonge Street, First Canadian Place, #4 King Street West and the King Street Subway. He has 15 years experience in the environmental industry including PCB disposal and recycling, as well as onsite remediation and recycling of non-PCB transformers and associated electrical equipment.

Marc Mittleman, B.Sc., VP Operations

Marc graduated from Kansas State University with a Degree in Horticulture and also studied Botany and Floristics at Arizona State University. After graduating, he managed and directed a research laboratory investigating the potential of American Indian and arid adapted plants for commercialization. In 1989 he joined Greenspoon Bros. Ltd., who at the time was Canada’s largest demolition contractor.  As Wastestreams Manager, he oversaw the aggregate recycling plants, later developing into the role of Vice President, Research & Development for Canadian Eagle Recyclers Inc. Marc has over 22 years experience in research and development in the waste recovery and recycling field and related operations including PCB’s, contaminated soils, and hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste.

Anthony Patafio, CETE, Project Manager

Anthony graduated from Sheridan College with a Diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology-Environmental. After graduating, he worked with the Region of Peel in the Waste Management Department. Green-Port retained Anthony’s services to act as their Site Foreman. Within three years in the environmental field, Anthony was promoted to Project/Operations Manager to direct all on site and off site PCB, non-PCB, hazardous and non-hazardous waste services and recycling. Currently Anthony manages Green-Port’s new transfer and recycling facility at 64 Todd Road, for all dry-type and oil-filled <50 ppm transformers and related electrical equipment. He also manages all off site environmental remediation and recycling activities for over 40 utilities as well as Fortune 500 companies in the Province of Ontario.

Health and Safety Training

Green-Port employs trained staff on our projects to meet or exceed government guidelines. We have an Employee Health and Safety Policy Booklet, which all Green-Port employees must first read and be familiar with prior to employment. They are required to acknowledge and sign that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by Green-Port Heath & Safety Policy.  Green-Port is participating in the WSIB Safety Groups Program sponsored by the IHSA.  Our intent is that this important group will serve as a precursor to obtaining our COR Certification.

Green-Port employees are trained to operate heavy equipment such as forklift and bobcats,
and are DZ licensed as well as specialized training in:

  • WHMIS
  • First Aid & CPR
  • Working at Heights/Fall Arrest
  • Confined Space Entry
  • TDGA (Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act)

Select employees are trained in asbestos and mold abatement.
